THE STATE OF THE WORLD

COVID-19 deeds

The world is having a convulsion
Every Tim, Dick, and Harry in confusion
Lockdown and stay safe two new keywords
Hunger and loneliness have turned lords

No more Saturday picnic
Else you end up in the clinic
No more discos in the outer restaurants
Else you become a tenant in an isolation center

No more children playing raising sands
All physical gatherings are forbidden
Church, schools meetings now done online,
Students and lecturers; all in safe islands

COVID-19's dealing with both big and low
Regardless of where you are; high or low
Oh Lord come to our aid
And please safe from this situation

Loneliness has taught us a lesson;
That we all but social animals
Now we value our gatherings
Beyond this present moment is implications
Of lockdown

I pray at the end of it all
We will be able to gather again
In a board room, class or a big hall
To have business meetings, learn, and or listen to the word.

IT MATTER

IT MATTER! The topic to be discussed today is ‘it matter’, but the question is, what matters? Join me as we look into this deeply.  When I was in secondary school my Agricultural science teacher taught us then GERMINATION and the factor responsible for growth. Some of the factors are: viable seeds, moisture or water, nutrient (soil) and air (oxygen) When I meditatively considered these factors I realized that not even one out of them is un-important. If any of them isn’t available then the seed growth or germination is in jeopardy. Applying this into our lives’ journey as humans, it is evident that some factors also responsible for our own growth in every endeavors of life. Some take this serious while some others don’t.  When I say growth I do not mean increase in the number of age. Neither do I mean increase in stature. We grow in business, career, and ministry and so on. For us to grow in life we need to take these factors seriously. For instance the viabil...

MY LOCAL FRIEND

We started this series last week when we talked about ‘lessons from a game of football.’ The capsule overview of last week post is the fact that in a game of football they have a common goal, which is to win. And we established that if at all victory would be their friend then there is a need for them to work as a team. Here is a personal experience shared by a very good friend of mine: I have many friends both in my town and neighboring town. Some of them are educated while some are not. There was a time I went for a conference outside my town. I met new friends at the conference whose exposure transcend some of my friends at home. I needed to get their contacts but both my subscriber identity module (SIM) and phone storage were completely full. A thought c...

YOU TOO CAN BE BIASED

'My mother is the best mum in the world.' Are you conversant with this saying? I'm sure you do. I once disprove it, and you hear them saying I'm not talking about everybody but to me, my mother is the best in the whole world. This statement is biased. You see that point you pass judgment concerning a matter from your own point of view, you are biased.  Like I said earlier the writers of the best mum in the world write based on who they think is the best mum in the world. Even though, she might not be the best. But as far as they are concerned she is the best. This is a biased judgment. Photo credit to Pixabay. Am I trying to point an accusing finger at people for being biased? No, but I'm directing my article to those who believe that they are not biased.  People cook up stories just to favor their course because of their interest. They will go to any length to prove this, not because of anything but their interest. If there is anything humans...
