PREGNANT VIRGIN

** I just gained admission into the university when I met Sade. That particular day, I was going to the admin office to complete my screening exercise. I sighted her where she was sitting at reception waiting to be called. She was there for a screening I thought.  I managed to secure a seat beside her. The very first moment I sighted her I knew there was a connection. I could sense that she's not just a mere damsel but one with vigor and high I Q. The aura of her presence in that room brings a sweet aroma as I had never perceived my entire life. The nimbus of her light was like that of Sirius. Good morning, I greet. Morning. Please am here for a screening. Likewise me.  But it's like the people that will attend to us are holding a meeting, she said. From there we started chatting, we talked about our secondary school days. She finished the prestigious Queens' college.  OdunayoSamuel design When it was my turn to tell her the name of my secondary schoo

WEDNESDAY WISDOM

The high you rise, the more eyes are eager to watch you fall.                       ~Jayna (Krypton) Growth is essential in our journey in life. The more we grow the more we are visible to the world.  Our visibility to the world not only exposes us to good people but also bad people. Though, the top is replete with benefits but not without dangers.  From my own perspective, I think that the quote above is sounding a warning to leaders that they should be sensitive and watch their behaviors. Some mistakes made by them while they were not leaders if they make such now, might lead to their downfall.  Because the higher they go the more their enemies. Take President Donald J.  Trump, for instance,   the number of enemies he had when he was not the US president was nothing compared to the number that wants his downfall now.  Remember, "the higher you rise, the more eyes are eager to watch you fall."  Till we meet again next week.

TODAY'S IN HISTORY

Let's go down the memory lane and remind ourselves of some events or happenings that took place on this day. Remember, you can add to the list. 1. The space shuttle Challenger explodes just after liftoff (1986) 2. Albert Einstein startles Berlin by suggesting the possibility of measuring the universe (1921) 3. Hong Kong announced that it would kill 20,000 chickens in order to stop the spread of the influenza A virus H7N9 bird flu (2014). 4. On this day in 1937, testing of the Rolls Royce had begun. The very first model that was exhibited on the streets a few years after World War II ended was the Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. 5. January 1806 marks the end of Mungo Park. Mungo Park was an explorer who discovers River Niger. He died at the age of 35. 6. On this day in 1935, Iceland becomes the first Western country to legalize therapeutic abortion. Today in History

JUST ONE EVIDENCE

The truth will always be true regardless of people's opinions. The field is always during the rainy season green. But men may claim they never see any green grass on the field. But this does not negate the presence or the abundance of it.  One day I was in the sitting room watching television. Then one of my younger ones started putting off all the lights in the house. Thereafter, he told his aunt didn't I tell you there's no light? And that one replied thus, the television is still working. He wanted to prove to others that there was no light. But the television was the only evidence left, he could not off it because someone older than him was watching it. Yet, he insisted that there was no light. Though they were playing. But that's exactly how men fight truth to mislead others that it doesn't exist. They can go to any length to prove that truth is false and false is true .  They'll look for theories to buttress their points. However, this

HOW TO MARKET YOUR SKILL(S).

I personally believe one of the reasons we acquire skills is to have an edge either in the labor market or as a freelancer. But from personal experience, I realize that skill will just remain skill and earn the acquirer of such skills no dime without marketing it.  Take for instance if I know how to sing and many do not know I have such ability, if they need someone to sing on an occasion, they will never think of me. This is the reason many keep on acquiring skills but ask them how much they have made from the one they possess, they will tell you nothing or a meager amount. The problem is not that they don't have skills, but the problem is that they don't know how to manage and market their skills. This post is coming first from my personal experience as a skill possessor. Secondly, from research.  I always want to acquire new skill but the one I had acquired was doing nothing with them. Often complain of being broke. Little did I know that I hav
