HOW NOT TO WASTE YOUR LIFE

On more than two occasions my mobile phones had been stolen. And each time it hurt me to the marrow. Because I usually felt cheated each time my phone got stolen.
How not to waste your life

No one ever thought of losing their property but it happens. The one that was the most painful to me was the phone I used just for two days. I got it on Saturday and used it on Sunday, pheem, on Monday it was not my own again. I nearly had psycho because I could not explain it, it was like a miracle.

One of the reasons I don't usually like thieves stealing my stuff is because of the value I usually place upon anything that I own. And the first thought that usually comes to mind is they would not know the value.

Most times thieves never lose and usually, they don't care about the value of what they stole. Hence, they sell it at a ridiculous price.  Even if they stole a phone that worth let's say seventy thousand, they can sell it for thirty or twenty thousand. Meanwhile, the owner will never sell it that low. And the difference is that one cares about the value while the other doesn't know the value hence care not about it.

One of my friends once told me that whatever one values one will always find time to do it. And I heard this from my pastor, 'whatever you care about, you place value upon.' So the point is how much do you value your life? If you place value upon your life then you will care about it. And if you care about it you will place value upon it.

Many don't really care about who they are, what they have or what they will be. You can easily find out from the way they live their lives or their perspectives about life.
Let's take time, for instance, no one who values his or her life would ever joke with time. Knowing fully well, that time belongs to nobody.

If you value your life or what you are going to become you will never joke with time. Because time is the gap between what you have now and what you are going to have, where you are now and where you are going to be. In other words, the distance between here and there is time. We must always endeavor to make every minute or even seconds of our time count.

Because what many don't understand is that the seconds will roll into the minute, minutes to an hour, hours to a day and on and on like that till it roll to a year, years to decades. That time you fail to make count will eventually tell in not too far future. We are all in time as humans and we must do whatever is it we desire to do in time.

If you place value upon your life or you care about your life, you will never joke with time because time after time, the time has told us both in parable and plainly that it belongs to no man. Once you are able to understand this you realize that you save time by using time and not the way you save money.

And one of the ways to save time is to understand the power of saying 'no.' You can't help everybody, you don't have to be in every party, you don't have to watch all matches or movies, you don't have to turn a cinema to your second home. Understand the power of saying no simply means avoid any form of distractions.

Distraction is what makes some people waste their time on things that do not really matter. Setting your priority right will go a long way in helping you to say no. Successful people understand the power of time even the so-called internet fraudster never joke with time.

We must begin to realize that we don't have all the time to ourselves, that which you ought to do today never leave it till tomorrow. Tomorrow's activity is there waiting.

Again, if you value your life and that which you desire to be you will value time.
I once wrote a few liners poem;

"The difference between here and there is time
And it is time that will tell the time of time
It's time to consume the time for that which edify
because the time of time might be too late."

Remember, keep being you and keep being good.

MY LOCAL FRIEND

We started this series last week when we talked about ‘lessons from a game of football.’ The capsule overview of last week post is the fact that in a game of football they have a common goal, which is to win. And we established that if at all victory would be their friend then there is a need for them to work as a team. Here is a personal experience shared by a very good friend of mine: I have many friends both in my town and neighboring town. Some of them are educated while some are not. There was a time I went for a conference outside my town. I met new friends at the conference whose exposure transcend some of my friends at home. I needed to get their contacts but both my subscriber identity module (SIM) and phone storage were completely full. A thought c...

SEEDS

I remember when I started teaching as a side hustle. I didn't really take it serious. The first student I encountered,  just walk up to me for asistance, and I taught him at no cost. The last time I met him, he is already a graduate. After I graduated from the university I taught in one, two, three or four places. But those seeds I sowed then jokingly have become trees, I mean  big trees. Just last month I met two of my students in one of the reputable university in Nigeria; one is studying Chemical engineer and the other Computer science. Those were the one I taught between 2017 and 2018. Some of the students I taught between 2015 and 2016 had graduated from universities while some are in their final year. Some of my students are still in secondary schools and they are doing fine. I have students that are not in school but follow their passion either as singers, comedian, etc. and they are as well doing fine. Why am I telling you this? Is it for show, or perhap...

IT MATTER

IT MATTER! The topic to be discussed today is ‘it matter’, but the question is, what matters? Join me as we look into this deeply.  When I was in secondary school my Agricultural science teacher taught us then GERMINATION and the factor responsible for growth. Some of the factors are: viable seeds, moisture or water, nutrient (soil) and air (oxygen) When I meditatively considered these factors I realized that not even one out of them is un-important. If any of them isn’t available then the seed growth or germination is in jeopardy. Applying this into our lives’ journey as humans, it is evident that some factors also responsible for our own growth in every endeavors of life. Some take this serious while some others don’t.  When I say growth I do not mean increase in the number of age. Neither do I mean increase in stature. We grow in business, career, and ministry and so on. For us to grow in life we need to take these factors seriously. For instance the viabil...
