DADDIES AND MUMMIES

Our sugar daddies and mummies
Had advised us not to follow young chicks
What they cannot offer
With no perspiration, we give.
Our body we willingly give
On you we lavish our cash

We never ask you to dissipate
your energy on us with no cost
Whenever you play with us
We pay for it
But the Young ask for pay
Before they play
Why are you wasting your energy for nothing?
A great service you render
And you deserve to be paid
And not to pay

Life is give and take, they said.
Give what you have and get what you want
If you're a lion on the bed
Come display your potential

You're rich if you forget about young chicks
We are living big
We're sweet smelling savor in any club house we tread
But how long will this enjoyment last?
Are we not eating our life time treasure?
In the blinking of an eye

They protested that the young chicks
Lack experience and skills
Where lies your sense of reasoning
Play along with us and be rich
Do we really have future with you sirs/mas?

They're too old to be our parents
Yet, they want us to address them by their nomenclature
After all you are not too small to climb our hills: they remarked
Because of cash the young chicks
Never give us a breathing space
And we dare not embrace them
'Cos our dearest daddies and mummies must not smell them around us

Guys! How long are we going to continue living a parasitic life?
Can't we work with our own hands?
And give God the chance to bless us
Through the right channel
Our work with those men and women
Is not the best for us?
Because once we lose our strength
We'll be replaced like a spare part

Till we meet again, I remain my humble self, AKERELE ODUNAYO SAMUEL
Remeber keep being you and keep being true.

IT MATTER

IT MATTER! The topic to be discussed today is ‘it matter’, but the question is, what matters? Join me as we look into this deeply.  When I was in secondary school my Agricultural science teacher taught us then GERMINATION and the factor responsible for growth. Some of the factors are: viable seeds, moisture or water, nutrient (soil) and air (oxygen) When I meditatively considered these factors I realized that not even one out of them is un-important. If any of them isn’t available then the seed growth or germination is in jeopardy. Applying this into our lives’ journey as humans, it is evident that some factors also responsible for our own growth in every endeavors of life. Some take this serious while some others don’t.  When I say growth I do not mean increase in the number of age. Neither do I mean increase in stature. We grow in business, career, and ministry and so on. For us to grow in life we need to take these factors seriously. For instance the viabil...

I PROPOSED A DECEIT

I was born when the time was still partially measured by the throaty crow of the cocks. When if cock refuses to crow, the time was measured by the height of shadow.  I can still very much remember how my father would say the time is three o'clock in the afternoon because the shadow had reached a certain height on the wall in our backyard. Sometimes I was wowed at the level of his intelligence.  He didn't mark that particular spot on the wall and he never for once missed it. I tried doing but kept on missing it. Then, I used charcoal to Mark it. Isn't beautiful to say I also measured time by the height of shadow? Winks.  My father was a farmer and partially a hunter. He was very diligent and good at what he does. He had cocoa, cola nut, plantain, yam, maize, cowpea, and rice farms. He was rich in goats, and different kinds of fowls. Apart from the fact that he uses labor we the children were also part of the labors employ on his farm.  We worked all ye...

THE MYTH OF AN AFRICA AKEE: NUTRITIOUS BUT POISONOUS

Dear friends You have mountains to climb  You have missions to accomplish Shining brighter is your bulb Don't give your strength to that which perish Never fall for alluring hips You have land and nation to conquer Waste not your time conquering hips As a result, many lives have been shattered Your friends might have told you it's love Maybe not the one from above What you desire is that which you have seen The contour, the butt, curves, and the breasts  Love that robs you of value Hear this my humble truth This is lust after her many assets I can see that big butts, breasts et al are all set Before you climb this mountain Why not ask if the time is riped Because it's like an African akee Nutritious but poisonous if it's not *Footnote  The right timing is very important whatever we are doing. Before you take any action be patient enough  ask yourself if the timing is right or not. ©OdunayoSam.
