LESSON FROM THE GAME OF FOOTBALL

Football is a game of two teams. With each team make up eleven players. These players consist of strikers, defenders, midfielders and a goal keeper. Each of the players have their respective roles on the pitch. There is a need to work together as a team before they can win any game. This is because football is less an individual game but more of team game. Effective communication is crucial to success in the world of football. Victory is not far from any team that connect and communicate well on the pitch. The striker cannot say because I’m the goal scorer, I don’t need the goal keeper or the midfielders. However, he may score goals but his team would also concede as many goals as possible. In a case they concede more than they score, that’s a defeat on their part. Working together in the world of football is a step to victory.
Every team wants to win. They want to gain possession of the ball at all cost. They all look ambitious and passionately serious. In an attempt to gain control of the ball from the opposing team, some players go for legs instead of ball. If such happen, the referee either issue out warning card (yellow) or eviction card (red) depending on the extent of offence committed.
This scenario can be likened to our journey in life.
Many are ambitious and passionately serious just like football players. We all want to achieve our dreams, we all want to win and also reach our desire heights.  After you’ve set your goals you must realize you need people to achieve those goals. After you have seen vision you must also realize that you need people as part of the mission to make your vision a reality. This doesn’t mean you are incomplete or incapable.
Those that want to pull others down to go up will never get there. Run your race diligently, be hardworking and never look down on people. Remember Rahab, an harlot that rescued the spies that went to Jericho.
Regardless of your status, either social or financial or even both you cannot live in isolation. We need one another to reach our aiming heights.
‘I’ alone can chase a thousand but two will chase ten thousands.
Till we meet again, I remain my humble self AKERELE ODUNAYO SAMUEL.

Remember keep being you and keep being true.

IT MATTER

IT MATTER! The topic to be discussed today is ‘it matter’, but the question is, what matters? Join me as we look into this deeply.  When I was in secondary school my Agricultural science teacher taught us then GERMINATION and the factor responsible for growth. Some of the factors are: viable seeds, moisture or water, nutrient (soil) and air (oxygen) When I meditatively considered these factors I realized that not even one out of them is un-important. If any of them isn’t available then the seed growth or germination is in jeopardy. Applying this into our lives’ journey as humans, it is evident that some factors also responsible for our own growth in every endeavors of life. Some take this serious while some others don’t.  When I say growth I do not mean increase in the number of age. Neither do I mean increase in stature. We grow in business, career, and ministry and so on. For us to grow in life we need to take these factors seriously. For instance the viabil...

I PROPOSED A DECEIT

I was born when the time was still partially measured by the throaty crow of the cocks. When if cock refuses to crow, the time was measured by the height of shadow.  I can still very much remember how my father would say the time is three o'clock in the afternoon because the shadow had reached a certain height on the wall in our backyard. Sometimes I was wowed at the level of his intelligence.  He didn't mark that particular spot on the wall and he never for once missed it. I tried doing but kept on missing it. Then, I used charcoal to Mark it. Isn't beautiful to say I also measured time by the height of shadow? Winks.  My father was a farmer and partially a hunter. He was very diligent and good at what he does. He had cocoa, cola nut, plantain, yam, maize, cowpea, and rice farms. He was rich in goats, and different kinds of fowls. Apart from the fact that he uses labor we the children were also part of the labors employ on his farm.  We worked all ye...

MY GHETTO CRUSH

Beauty, I think is very hard to come by. Sometimes I did say beauty is peculiar to a particular tribe, location, and or area. It never occurs to me that it can be found in any other place aside from those special places. I had determined whenever I want to get married my eyes would be on those choice locations where beauty resides. Where does beauty reside? I had asked myself this question and my answer has always been beauty has a special location.  This I believe until I met this lady whose beauty is not of this planet. This is not an exaggeration but my way of telling the wonderful work of creation I met in the ghetto. If there are many of you in the world then the company produce makes up or makeover tools will pack up in no time. Or they wouldn't have come into being in the first place. Your beauty to me defeats the purpose of using those artificial ingredients because you are beautifully crafted by the alamo to mo eda (I.e. the potter that molded human). If you ref...
