I came across a qoute few days ago, it says and I quote, "however beautiful the sunset is it will soon go dark." This reminds me of my own sunset when I was growing up as a young boy. There was this boy among our peers who always bullied us.
We were class mate, same age and height. But he was like a master to us, he was even a master because we all feared him. We dared not tackle him whenever we played foot ball because of the fear of injuring him which could attract thorough beating in retaliation.
There was this particular day we were playing foot ball, my own street against his. I didn't know what came over me, I wasn't drunk just that I was drunk with a winning spirit.
For the first time I tackled him. During the course of gaining the possession of the ball from him I mistakenly injured him. He fell flat on the ground. I already knew there was fire on the mountain. I felt like something or perhaps Merlin should appear and whisk me away from the place with his magical prowess. But there was nothing like that. All I did was to gather courage and faced the unexpected.
He stood up and gave me two blows. I moved closer, carried and hit him on the ground. My fame went round the village that Odunbaba beat Okolemo(Meaning you can't know it) as he was fondly called.
What does this imply? No matter the situation there's always an expiry date. The only thing that last forever is the grace of God which gives eternal life. Anything aside that is temporal. Are you faced with many problems? Cheer up! Your problem has an expiry date. Are you experiencing dryness in your business? It cannot last forever, there shall be showers of blessing.
Are you in a position of authority and you're using that position to maltreat your subordinates? Remember, your stay in that position has an expiry date.
Are you a leader tormenting and living extravagantly at the expense of the citizens you are meant to serve and protect. Your stay in that office has an expiry date.
Maybe now you hardly eat two square meals in a day, it can't be like that forever. Your story will end in glory.
One of the major problems people have is that they use others as parameters to measure their growth and achievement. Neglecting the fact that our time and season is different.
Mango and Orange may not likely produce fruit at the same season but one thing is certain they both produce fruit. The sun is rising while the moon disappeared and vice versa.
Using others to measure your own growth does more harm than good. Moreover it doesn't solve but only compound your problem.
I'm not insinuating that you should fold your arms and be complacent. All I'm saying is that God's time is the best.
"That awkward situation, mismanagement or that era of tyranny has an expiry date.
